How We Met
Hanna and Jeremy have been friends since med school and were very excited to both be at Rush for Residency (Hanna in PM&R with an Internal Medicine Intern year and Jeremy doing Internal Medicine). Jeremy befriended fellow Internal Medicine resident Mateusz bonding over anime, video games, and being silly little boys.
Jeremy, being the forever social host, organized a happy hour at District Brew Yards (RIP) and OG med school friend met new friend rival. Everyone had a lovely night and many laughs. Yana texted Hanna at the end of the night that she noticed some chemistry and really “shipped” the two of them. Hanna thought the silly boy was fun and enjoyed his company.
A few weeks later, shift change hand offs became a time to chat, and Hanna and Mateusz were the last remaining on a group outting and closed out a bar talking. This was crazy person behavior as Hanna does not stay up past 10:30 (9 in the winter).
A few months later, after much texting, Hanna was annoyed that there had been no date plans yet and made plans happen.
Chicago
We spent the next 3.5 years together in Chicago, working hard, hanging out with friends, and adopting our pirate pup, Caly.

Our Engagement
With a lovely vacation in southern France, Mateusz popped the question (to Hanna’s surprise) while we were hiking in Eze (first response words being “no you turd” because she didn’t bring his ring on the hike). We made the engagement official with our fancy photoshoot overlooking the city of Nice (See the pretty pictures on our website!) We were also lucky enough to catch the Monaco grand prix which was a great finale to a wonderful trip.
